Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 29, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how The Art of Practice ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our application and website.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They help the site remember your actions and preferences over time.

2. Cookies We Use

Nothing optional runs until you choose. The banner asks every visitor, wherever they are, and Essential Only is as easy as Accept All.

NamePurposeDurationRequired
connect.sidKeeps you signed in to the appUp to 7 days (30 minutes while a Google sign-up waits for its date of birth)Yes (essential)
membership_sessionKeeps you signed in to the workshop and the AcademyUntil you sign out or it expiresYes (essential)
aop_age_gateSet only after a date of birth under 16 was entered: for 24 hours the same browser gets the same answer. It holds an expiry time and a signature, nothing about you24 hoursYes (security)
aop-analytics-consentRemembers your cookie choice (Accept or Essential Only), also kept in your browser’s storage1 yearYes (essential)
Browser storage for preferencesRemembers your display settings, theme and similar choices on this deviceUntil you clear itNo (functional)
First-party analyticsOnly after Accept: events about which features you use, sent to our own server. No third-party analytics script runs in your browserUntil you withdraw consentNo (analytics)
_fbp, _fbc (Meta Pixel)Only on the Accelerator checkout page and only after Accept: measures visits and purchases from our Facebook and Instagram ads90 daysNo (advertising measurement)

Your Spotify connection, if you make one, is kept on our server, not in a cookie.

3. What We Do NOT Use

4. Your Choices

Essential cookies (the sign-in sessions, the age-gate hold and your cookie choice) cannot be switched off, because the Service cannot work securely without them.

Everything else is off until you press Accept, and you can change your mind at any time with Cookie Settings in the app’s settings (under the legal list) or the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent stops the analytics and the Meta Pixel and removes the Pixel’s cookies. Clearing your browser’s cookies and storage also brings the banner back.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings:

Blocking all cookies may prevent you from using the Service, as the session cookie is required for authentication.

5. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
